Murder In The Mountains

  by Tyler Mallone

When Kelly and David of K&D Realty moved to the small ski-resort community of Bear Creek, leaving behind southern California’s warm climate, palm trees, jammed beaches, congested freeways, crowded malls - and crime, they looked forward to experiencing a small-town atmosphere, nearness to nature and the peaceful setting of the mountains. After three years, they had lived here just long enough to get lulled into a false feeling of security. Surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains of northern California, they felt safe, insulated from the evils of a metropolis, and protected by a close-knit community. That was about to change.

Selling houses in the mountains was refreshingly different until a body is discovered in their listing. David begs Kelly to stop checking vacant houses alone. His pleas fall on deaf ears and overly-independent Kelly barely escapes becoming the next victim. Flying adventures lead them to uncover clues in the murder and they are determined to stop him, or her. Too late to save another victim, Kelly cranks up her determination, zeros in on her prime suspect and comes face to face with the cold-blooded killer.
